Annulment Advocates

St Thomas parish currently has two diocesan tribunal certified advocates for the marriage annulment process. Deacon David and Ann Hicks are available to serve as advocates for parish members that may have questions about the annulment procedures or may be considering the annulment process. Please contact Deacon David or Ann Hicks if you have questions or need further assistance.

Formed

FORMED is a digital platform that offers access to video-based study programs, feature films, audio presentations, and e-Books. There is a wealth of information about the Catholic Faith on this platform. St. Thomas Parish has purchased a subscription to this service for all parishioners. FORMED

Monthly Memorial Mass For Our Dearly departed Loved Ones

St. Thomas the Apostle will celebrate monthly Memorial Masses to honor our friends and family who have gone to the house of the Father. These Masses will take place every 2nd Thursday at 6pm in Spanish and every 3rd Thursday at 9am in English, and all are welcome to attend. Please contact Sr. Amanda Magdalena (sramanda@stthomascatholic.com or 205-358-1973) to add the names of your deceased loved ones or if you have any questions.

Altar Server Ministry

Attention parents of recent first communicants: if your child who recently received first communion has expressed an interest in joining the altar server ministry, please contact Deacon David. We are currently recruiting new servers from those that recently received first communion. Our recruitment effort applies to the three English masses along with our Spanish mass.

Youth Ministry - Calling ALL High Schoolers!

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Youth Ministry is excited to announce plans to take a group of our youth to the Steubenville Atlanta Summer Youth Conference - July 26-28, 2024 in Duluth, Georgia! Spots are limited (20 total) and will be given on a first come first served basis. All upcoming freshman and recently graduated seniors are encouraged to attend. Registration is open to youth at our parish. You do not have to be in the youth group to sign up but will be required to participate in fundraising events. Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Birmingham 23rd Annual Conference on July 26 and 27

The 23rd Annual CCROB Conference will be held in the Family Life Center at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on July 26 and at 8:00 a.m. on July 27. The conference theme is “Unity in the Body of Christ.” The main speaker will be Richard Lane along with Father Frank- line Fomukong, Sr. Anne Marie Schreiner, Dan Gardner and Amy Russo. Friday’s Mass will be celebrated by Father Vernon Hughley. Saturday’ s Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Asih. The registration fee for individuals is $30 and $85 for a family of 3 or more. OCALA Backpacks 7/27

Do you need material for your children’s return to school? We will be giving away and supporting: Backpacks, School supplies, Free Health exams, Free HIV Testing, No appointment or ID required. We will have gifts and information from our sponsors. Do not miss it! This event will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00am-2pm. Faith Formation Registration 8/11th & 18th

There are two dates: one is August 11th, between the Masses in the parish hall and August 18th between the Masses, in the Education Building. If you are new, please make sure you are registered with the Parish. If you are not registered at the parish, you can come by the office during the week, or go to our website and fill out the electronic form. The office is open Monday –Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-12pm.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary 8/15

St. Thomas Parish will celebrate the Feast of the Assumption on Thursday, August 15 with masses at 9:00AM and a bilingual mass at 7:00PM. The Feast of the Assumption is a Holyday of Obligation.
