Annulment Advocates

St Thomas parish currently has two diocesan tribunal certified advocates for the marriage annulment process. Deacon David and Ann Hicks are available to serve as advocates for parish members that may have questions about the annulment procedures or may be considering the annulment process. Please contact Deacon David or Ann Hicks if you have questions or need further assistance.

Formed

FORMED is a digital platform that offers access to video-based study programs, feature films, audio presentations, and e-Books. There is a wealth of information about the Catholic Faith on this platform. St. Thomas Parish has purchased a subscription to this service for all parishioners. Monthly Memorial Mass For Our Dearly departed Loved Ones

St. Thomas the Apostle will celebrate monthly Memorial Masses to honor our friends and family who have gone to the house of the Father. These Masses will take place every 2nd Thursday at 6pm in Spanish and every 3rd Thursday at 9am in English, and all are welcome to attend. Please contact Sr. Amanda Magdalena (sramanda@stthomascatholic.com or 205-358-1973) to add the names of your deceased loved ones or if you have any questions.

Catholic Charismatic Monthly Mass At Our Lady of Sorrows

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama announces the celebration of monthly Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church the second Thursday of each month. Come worship and praise and enjoy coming together to give glory to God. Confessions are at 6:15 pm, Praise Music at 6:30 pm and Mass begins at 7:00 pm. Individual prayer is available after Mass. Funeral for Helen Walker

St. Thomas Parish offers our sympathy to the family and friends of Helen Walker. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

St. Thomas Christmas Concert 12/15

St. Thomas Parish invites you to our Christmas Concert on December 15 at 7:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Christmas Adult Choir

The St. Thomas Christmas Adult Choir will serve as the Liturgical Choir for the 9pm Mass on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are held on Sundays from 9:30am-10:30am in the Music Room of the Church. We also hope to participate in merry making through music by singing in the St. Thomas Christmas Concert. Please contact Ann Hicks at 205-621-0372 to learn more and participate. Thanksgiving Day Mass with Blessing of the Bread 11/28

St. Thomas Parish will celebrate Mass at 10:00AM on Thanksgiving Day with the tradition of blessing of the bread. All are welcome to bring any bread you will be using for your Thanksgiving dinner to be blessed!

Social Concerns Committee: Angel Tree 12/1

This year's Angel Tree is up in the Gathering Area. Each card on the tree is from a child in need, with their hope for a Christmas gift. If you are able, please take a card and return it under the tree attached to the gift by December 1st. Please not wrap gifts–instead, if possible, put them in a bag. Please remember to fill out the tab on the bottom of the card and drop it in the gold box on the table beside the tree. We need the gifts returned and placed under the tree by December 1st–any gifts dropped off after this day cannot be delivered. Candle Lighting for Advent

During Advent season, each week a volunteer will light the candles of the Advent Wreath as part of the Entrance Procession. We invite Families or any Groups of individuals to sign up in the Gathering Area for this ministry.

Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe 12/12

Our Lady of Guadalupe is already coming upon us! The Rosary will start at 10pm on Wednesday, Dec. 11th, followed by the mañanitas (singing), with coffee and sweet bread. On Thursday, Dec. 12th the procession will start at 6pm with the dancers and the rosary followed by the mass. We also need a lot of volunteers to help with the food that people are donating, to work in the kitchen, to empty the trash cans and take them to the dumpster, and more. Above all, we need help with cleaning the kitchen and the parish hall. For more information, call the office at 205-663-3936 or come in person. All are welcome!

Fun with Santa 12/14

St. Veronica’s will be hosting Fun with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14th from 2:00pm-4:00pm in the Parish Hall. All are welcome for cookies, crafts, and lots of fun!

Posadas 12/16-23

Posadas is Spanish for “lodgings” or “accommodations.” This annual tradition commemorates Mary and Joseph’s difficult journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a warm place to stay the night. We invite you all to join us in celebrating the posadas again this year. The posadas will last from Dec. 16 —Dec. 23, each day at 6pm. We will begin in the church with a Rosary, go to the Parish Hall asking for shelter, and afterwards the children will receive a bag of goodies. If you are interested in participating or helping with the goodies bags, please let us know in the office.
