At St. Thomas we put great care into our programs for children, youth, and young adults. Among our earliest and longest ministries is the Catholic Campus Ministry for the University of Montevallo. We also have constantly evolving bilingual ministries for our high school students and our young adults. Among our largest ministries is our Faith Formation program, which serves students from 1st to 10th Grade.
Faith Formation Office
Our bilingual youth ministry meets every Wednesday at 7pm! It is open to all high school students. For more information, contact Maria Maldonado at 205-517-0604.
Our bilingual young adult ministry meets every Thursday at 7pm! We do a wide range of activities each week, such as making rosaries to donate, casual game nights, and more. For more information, contact Maria Maldonado at 205-517-0604.
On Sundays during regular school session from 9:30AM to 10:45AM, our parish hosts classes for children from 1st to 10th Grade. These include preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. Class registration generally opens in May and closes when classes begin in August or September. For information on when Faith Formation registration opens and what classes you should register your children for, see the Faith Formation FAQ.
Our Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) has served the students of the University of Montevallo for several decades. Masses are held every week of the University's Fall and Spring semesters on Wednesdays at 5:30PM at our Student Center (1027 Moody St, Montevallo, AL 35115), Mass is celebrated, followed by a meal provided by volunteer parishioners. If you have any questions about this ministry, contact our co-directors at ccm@stthomascatholic.com.
What is the registration fee for Faith Formation classes?
For all the Grades 1-8, Confirmation, and First Communion classes, the fee is $75 for 1 student, $100 for 2 students, and $125 for 3 or more students.
What class should I register my child for?
Most children are registered for the grade they are in: grades 1-8. If your child has not received the Eucharist yet, then you should enroll them in the 1st Communion class (Year 1 if they have not attended already; Year 2 if they already attended Year 1). If they are 9th or 10th grade, then you should enroll them in the Confirmation classes (Confirmation 1 for the first year; Confirmation 2 if they have already attended). Confirmation C is reserved for 11th and 12th graders.
